Steps in your skin care rituals.

Skin care is such an important part of self-care and can help you feel more confident and refreshed. Establishing a regular skin care ritual is a great way to take care of your skin and relax, taking a moment for yourself at the same time. Here is a simple 5 steps that can not only keep your skin looking and feeling amazing but also fit easily into your day.

  • Cleanse

The first step in any skin care ritual is to cleanse your skin. This removes dirt, makeup, and oil that can clog your pores and cause breakouts. The key here is to remove the dirt but not to strip the skin of its natural oils. The Creamy Face Wash with Sandalwood and Chamomile is gentle, non-drying and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Gently massage your cleanser into your skin using circular motions. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry. Use cleanser twice if wearing make-up.

  • Exfoliate

Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells and reveal fresher, smoother skin. It also allows other skin care products to penetrate deeper into your skin. The Creamy Face Scrub with Sandalwood and Chamomile contains ground walnut shell and is suitable for use 1-2 times per week. Apply it in a circular motion, paying extra attention to areas that tend to be rough or dry. Gentle is the key, when exfoliating we are not trying to scrub away a layer of skin, rather gently polishing. Take the time to do this mindfully and with consideration to your skin. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry.

  • Tone

Toning helps to balance your skin's pH level and remove any residual dirt or oil. Apply toner to a cotton pad and swipe it over your face and neck. The Rosewater Toner is alcohol-free, so is not drying and comes in an easy to spray bottle.

  • Mask

This step is where you can really indulge yourself. Taking the time once a week to apply a face mask has multiple benefits. There is the benefit of taking the time for some self-care out of the usual routines which allows us to honour ourselves on an inner level. And of course there is benefits to the skin. The Pink Clay Mask and the Dead Sea Mud Mask both contain clays to draw out the impurities from the ski. Clay also has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. These properties can help to reduce acne breakouts and soothe inflamed skin, promoting clearer, healthier looking skin. Spread a layer of the mask over the face and leave for up to 20 minutes. I recommend during this time you do something for yourself. Read a book, take a bath, drink a cup of tea. Do something for you and not housework or chores, just for this 20 minutes of you-time. After 20 minutes, rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry.

  • Moisturise

Moisturising is an essential step in any skin care routine, even if you have oily skin. Choose from Original Face Moisturiser, Face Cream with Green Coffee Bean oil or the Face Cream with Sandalwood and Chamomile and apply it in upward circular motions. Don't forget to include your neck and décolletage in this step, as these areas can also show signs of aging. I encourage you to try to take 30 seconds to apply your moisturiser. Bonus points if you can close your eyes and really feel into the process.

The skin under the eyes is considered to be one of the most delicate areas of the face and body. The skin in this area is thinner and more delicate than the skin on other parts of the body, and it also contains fewer oil glands and collagen fibres, making it more susceptible to damage and aging. Because the skin under the eyes is so thin, it is more prone to dryness, which can lead to fine lines and wrinkles. The skin in this area is also constantly in motion due to facial expressions and eye movements, which can lead to the formation of crow's feet and other fine lines. This is where an eye cream can be of benefit in hydrating and protecting the delicate skin below the eyes.

If you use an eye cream such as the Eye Cream with Green Coffee Bean oil, or Eye Cream with Sandalwood and Chamomile, gently dab under the eyes with your middle or ring finger. Avoid dragging the skin.

Incorporating a skin care ritual into your daily routine can help you feel more relaxed and confident in your skin. Remember to be consistent with your routine and listen to your skin's needs. Over time, you'll see the benefits of a consistent skin care ritual in the form of healthier, clearer, and more radiant skin.
