Anahata is the fourth chakra and is connected to the element of air, and is associated with unconditional love, compassion and joy. It is represented by the colour green and is physically situated in the centre of the chest.
When the heart chakra is out of alignment, physical conditions affecting the heart, lungs, circulation and blood pressure can occur. Mentally, you could have feelings of loneliness, jealousy and find it difficult to trust others,
When the heart chakra is in healthy alignment you will feel surrounded by love, compassion, and joy and connected to the world around you. You will feel open to all experiences in life, and it will feel like challenges, especially in relationships, flow through you and are resolved with ease. An open heart chakra allows us to see all of the beauty and love around us, and truly connect to ourselves, our loved ones, and the natural world. This chakra also helps direct love back to ourselves to truly be able to love and accept ourselves and our bodies.
Some of the ways you can assist with bringing the heart chakra back into alignment are:
Eat green foods
Wear green or pink clothing
Practise gratitude. Keep a gratitude journal and write down 3 things each day that you are grateful for
Consume heart opening drinks like cacao
Practise daily self care rituals
Do heart opening yoga poses
Carry or surround yourself with crystals such as rose quartz, jade, malachite, amazonite and green tourmaline
Diffuse or anoint yourself with essential oils like rose, ylang ylang frankincense, melissa, jasmine and neroli
Speak or write heart opening affirmations such as these
My heart is open to giving and receiving love
I love myself unconditionally
I am worthy of the purest love
I choose love every day
It is safe for me to love and be loved
My heart is filled with joy and gratitude
I personally love to treat myself to indulgent rituals of self love and honour. I regularly write in my journal, drink cacao and love to treat my body with natural skin care products daily. My favourite is to take my time to slowly and mindfully apply my Sensual Body Lotion while affirming the things I love about myself. I also apply the Anahata Chakra Perfume Balm when I am feeling the need for more self love. I'm loving this time of the year for the beautiful rose blooms in the garden and have been choosing to bring some inside the house to brighten my space and my mood.
